Activity 1.1A - The Role of Local Governments in Events
What
Locate the event strategy of your local council or area and review their role in public events. Alternatively, you can read and review the Event Strategy of the City of Holdfast Bay. The City of Holdfast Bay is located in the Adelaide metropolitan area and has a large calendar of events. More than 250 public events and festivals are held there throughout the year.After completing this task, you will be able to:
- list the roles that governments play in events and
- describe the nature and function of government event strategies
How
- Search online for the event strategy of your local council or area/region. Alternatively, you can read and review the Event Strategy of the City of Holdfast Bay.
- Consider the following questions:
- Does your local government have an event strategy? What does it entail?
- What are the roles your local government plays in the regulation and coordination of events?
- Post your response to the Activity 1.1A Discussion Forum
- Read through the responses from other students and identify similarities and differences.
- Leave at least one comment on someone else’s response to point out the similarities or differences you have found.
