People are complex organisms. They contain several organ systems working together to allow them to survive. Each system comprises organs, tissues and cells, working together at different levels to carry out ongoing processes required for life, such as breathing and gas exchange.
The first video on chemistry began to look at body organisation. This video will introduce, and help you to understand, how the body's organ systems fit together and provide some insight into the overall function of each organ system. You will learn more about the digestive system, skeletal system, muscular system, cardiovascular system, and nervous system this term in Foundations of Human Biology 1. However, the other systems introduced in this video (respiratory system, endocrine system, urinary system, immune and lymphatic system, reproductive system) will be explored when you progress on to Foundations of Human Biology 2.
