Study Resources
- What does critical thinking and reading involve and what does academic writing look like? Learn about strategies and techniques to help you be successful in your studies. These resources provide tips on reading and note-taking, writing style and structure, and ways to participate effectively at university.
- What is an essay? What does it look like? How might a report be different? Learn how to approach different types of assignments at university and reference appropriately. Also find out how to prepare for and participate in online quizzes and exams.
- Do you need to brush up on your English language and vocabulary? Will you be working on calculations or formulas in any of your courses? Access resources to improve your English and maths for greater success in your studies.

learnOnline Help site is your one stop shop for technical help on using learnOnline. You will find:
- User tours: self-guided virtual tours of resources and activities for students new to learnOnline
- Editing tools: guidelines on how to use editing functions in learnOnline
- Information about activities: guidelines and practice tasks for the different types of activities you might do throughout your studies; activities include forum posts, quizzes, Zoom (online meetings) and messages
- Assessment & submission information: instructions for submitting assignments online, using Turnitin (a tool that identifies levels of similarity between your writing and other student assignments and published work), and undertaking online exams

USASA: Free Academic Advocacy Service
- The USASA Advocacy service provides advice on a wide range of academic concerns
- The Advocacy service is free, confidential and independent from the University
- The USASA Advocates can help you pursue your student rights to increase the chances of a positive outcome
- They are experts in academic policies and procedures and can help you understand what's happening and what you need to do if you are facing academic issues
